Demolish the Troll is your first resource for comprehensive, well-researched take-downs of ignorant beliefs circulating the Internet. We encourage visitors to cite our articles whenever they find ignorance.

Urban Dictionary defines “trolls” as the following:

One who posts a deliberately provocative message to a newsgroup or message board with the intention of causing maximum disruption and argument.

Trolls can also regularly be found on the comments of articles, blogs, or Twitter. Trolls pose a real dilemma for Internet users: they can choose to ignore the troll and, thus, let their misinformation go unquestioned, or they can engage with the troll (also called “feeding the troll”), which usually results in a long argument with little positive outcome.

Thankfully, there now is a third option: direct them to a Demolish the Troll article! Because Internet trolls typically recycle cliched incendiary comments, we’re creating a database with comprehensive rebuttals–so you don’t have to do research and type lengthy responses over and over again. Our articles do their best to reference reliable articles and research, allowing for definitive answers.

Our site will strive to tackle ignorance in any form and, if necessary, will research topics to obtain complete answers. However, we are most interested in staving off bigotry, misogyny, racism, economic illiteracy, and blatant misinformation about individuals. We fully admit to taking a progressive perspective toward political issues and always do our best to identify our biases if they happen to affect conclusions. However, because our site primarily takes interest in obviously false statements, our bias is rarely an issue.
